Why Flow Kākou?

Gratitude, Compassion and Humility is how we live.

Flow Kākou is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization whose mission is to empower, educate and inspire each community member through dance and theater.

Flow Kākou provides a variety of movement-based physical educational programs for all ages, races, abilities and curiosities. All it takes is one dance.

We provide in-school and after-school programming for early education, elementary through high school, college, university, professional development and continuing education for adults and senior citizens.

We also provide movement presentations, performances and events for all ages, cultures and abilities.

We may not all speak the same language but we all understand body language.

FLOW – Represents a steady, continuous stream of an individual’s choices, actions and reactions; it’s a process of moving and adapting to others as well as one’s surroundings and environment. At its core, flow represents balance in its purest and most simple form.

KĀKOU – In the Hawaiian Language, pronouns are split into inclusive and exclusive points of view. Inclusive pronouns refer to the speaker and the person being spoken to, while exclusive pronouns refer to the speaker and another person (not the addressee). Kākou is the INCLUSIVE form of the English pronoun “Us.” In essence, Kākou encompasses all things – all people, animals, plants, planets, and beyond.

If you have a body, we can move with you. If you have a mind, we can think with you. If you have a voice, we will listen to you. Flow Kākou is the balance of all things moving together.

Come join Flow Kākou and Go, when you go!
